DIY dog house ideas and plans are easy to find, and many are free. If you're making a dog house and want to save some money, free is a good thing. There are a couple of decisions you will have to make before you can gather the materials and start to build your dog's house.
1. What purpose will your dog house serve?
A dog house is there to protect your dog from rain, heat, wind, and cold.
2. Where are you going to put your dog house?
Find the ideal spot in your yard. Make sure it's roomy enough and has some shade.
33. What size do you want your dog house to be?
The answer to this question is bigger than your dog.
4. How much time is your dog going to spend in the place?
Is this dog house going to be your dog's home, or is it a place for them to hang out sometimes?
5. What do you want to make the dog house out of?
Wood and plastic are the usual materials used in making a dog house.
You can add concrete, bricks, and stones to the list. Concrete, rocks and stones, and brick won't be saving you any money; they tend to be expensive.

Making most of these dog houses need more skill than I possess, but check them out if you are handy with tools and are up to the challenge. I could handle the pallet dog house, it does look easy. I am a simple DIYer, give me four walls, a floor, and a roof, and that's a dog house!
I do love the look of the dog houses on that list, take a look, and I am sure you will like them.
