Homemade Dog Ideas by DIY Dog Stuff

DIY Dog Stuff was born all for the love of a dog, my dog, the best dog.

Homemade dog items and DIY projects made life with him affordable, and that saved his life. Why?

My beautiful white German Shepherd, Pharaoh, had health problems galore, and they were all manageable, but they were expensive! So, out of necessity, I figured out ways to supply what he needed without spending a fortune to do it. This way, I could afford the high cost of his medications and prescription dog food and still provide for him and for myself. I'll tell you more about that later.

What I learned (what my dog taught me) was once you start to DIY, you can't stop. You keep trying to figure out how to make it yourself in every area of your life. You are always on the lookout for more new, easy-to-make ideas. I've tried to make it all, whether it's homemade treats, DIY dog food recipes, old-school homemade remedies for dogs that itch or ear mites, or doggy dandruff. And my dog loves me for it. <3

Do I ever buy dog products? Of course, I do! (In fact, I love to shop.)

Do I ever go to the Vet's office? Yes!

I just go to the pet store and the Vet's office less often because I can make a lot of what my dog needs DIY style in my own home.

DIY Dog Stuff for the love of my dog

Here he is.  The dog that changed my life and made it better.  Pharaoh, King of All You See.

Five Reasons To Make It Yourself (DIY)

1. A sense of accomplishment - Look at what I did!

2. Learn a new skill set - I never knew I was so handy with a glue gun!

3. I can make it better than they can - Sometimes products are junky.

4. I can save some (lots) of money. Yay!

5. It gives me a positive, I Can Do It, feeling.

I've Made a Lot of Homemade Dog Accessories

Have I ever made some food or treat, or a homemade dog cake, that didn't turn out well?  Yes.

Have I ever made a doggie project that didn't quite make the grade and you had to look at it with your head slightly bent so it looked straight?  Or a DIY dog project that didn't quite do what it was supposed to do, or one that fell apart?  Yes.  And now I can laugh about it, although I might not have thought it was so funny when it happened.leash

I can barely sew, I hardly know which end of the hammer to use, I don't know what you call all those "thingamajigs", and I am not a master craftsman.

I am more of a Jill of all trades, master of none.

I try, sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don't, and then I try something else.  It's actually a lot of fun to make your own homemade dog accessories, toys, and DIY dog food ideas for dinners and treats, and I hope you find some great ideas for you and your dog on this site.  I also hope you share some of your ideas and successes, and failures, with me.

Find DIY dog project ideas for homemade dog beds, dog clothes, dog toys, food and treats, booties, dog houses, dog stairs and ramps, homemade leashes, collars, natural remedies , shampoos, and grooming help, all for you and your dog.

I believe it was Edison who said, "I have

not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

Well, I haven't been as busy at DIY as Edison, but I bet together we could beat his numbers!
